Our beautiful Cyprus villas are located in the picturesque village of Oroklini, just 8km to the north east of Larnaca town centre.
Overlooking Larnaca Bay, Oroklini (also known as Voroklini) is famed for its many beauty spots, in particular the wildlife haven of Oroklini Lake. This rich wetland attracts over 190 varieties of migrating birds, making it a bird-watcher's paradise. Rare and endangered species including the black-winged stilt, the spur-winged lapwing and the red-crested pochard nest at the site, while pink flamingos flocking to the water is a sight that won't be forgotten.
The Oroklini Nature Trail is a must for keen walkers, taking in impressive historic sites including the 500-year-old Chapel of Prophet Elias, and breathtaking views over Larnaca Bay.
For architecture lovers, there are plenty of quaint churches and chapels to admire, including the Chapel of Agios Thomas, a modern construction built near the ruins ancient 10th century monastery. The original monastery and its surrounding buildings were destroyed in the great earthquake of 1850.
Of course, many holidaymakers prefer to simply relax and enjoy the beautiful beaches of Cyprus. Galu beach and, a little further up the coast, Yiannades beach are both excellent for families in Oroklini.
There are also plenty of beaches to choose from further into Larnaca town. Finikoudes and Mackenzie are two of the most popular sandy beaches, with beautiful clear and calm waters perfect for children. Sunbeds and umbrellas can be hired and there are plenty of activities for thrill-seekers too, such as jet skis, speed boats and water skiing available.
Scuba diving trips are also available, with the Zenobia shipwreck a popular attraction for explorers.
As the third largest city in Cyprus, Larnaca has lots to offer visitors. Everything you could ever need can be found in this port city, from museums, markets and pharmacies to car hire, a bus station and hospital. Of course, Larnaca is not just a tourist city - it is also home to many Cypriots, who choose to live, work or study at the university here, making it a lively and buzzing place to be.
There are any number of party hotspots in the town, with the seafront in particular offering a bouncing nightlife. Those who prefer a quieter venue can find plenty of cosy and traditional bars and pubs in the old town.
Larnaca is also famed for its fascinating history, with some magnificent examples of ancient architecture, including the 9th century Church of Saint Lazarus.
